The Hunt for The Ardnamuchan…

When I was a young girl I went to see  a gigantic beautiful house built in the middle of the woods ” The Ardnamurchan”….can barely remember it …we only saw it from the outside……So I thought since I was all the way up here  beachcombing I should see if I can find it again….is it still standing…who owns it?…can I even find it. It was built-in the early 1900′s and owned by a lot of members from one  family, one wealthy family. It really is not the best time to drop into a place like that..this time of year usually the family is back for a visit. We’ll see what happens…….

Beautiful building !

Beautiful building !

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

A group of the Family had just arrived….so I didn’t stick around too long…..

  1. Just amazing. My sisters friend caretakes a private Island in Maine, that has a very similar house.
How is everyone? Are you getting the heat wave, too?
Miss you and your beautiful place to live.

  2. What a place!! Where is it Julie?
What ever happened to that young fella living in the woods down your way, have you seen him lately?

  3. Hi Stephen…The Ardnamurchan is up Argyle way. Sam (who lived in the woods) came home this year for awhile but has decided to live (with his surfboard)on the beaches of California!( no tent needed)! Can you imagine wanting to live on the warm beaches of California instead of enduring long cold Canadian winter’s in the middle of the woods in a tent..go figure! I think he has found a home (being a surfer and all).! Cheers, Julie
